PROJECT: Borrowed Memories (using previous works
by Evelyn Müürsepp
TERRITORY: EESTI
Eku offered me her previous works, which were about her family's
history, to
do something new with them. She was curious to see, how her art
changes in
someone else's hands and she wanted to break the tabu about artworks.
Looking at her
printed memory sheets I started to think, that memories are
something, that people like to share the most. But when you tell
someone
something that has happened to you, the story starts to change into
something else. The listener's imagination starts to modify the
story using
his/her own memories, feelings and imagination and so there will
be created
another version of this story. And one memory, when you tell it
to several
people, will enfold lots of new words, emotions and imaginations.
While
wondering about that I started to make the cubes of wire that somehow
should
imply to the invisible room of our mind and the boundaries of words
and
imagination it has.
